Zerimel Drotea

Zerimel can reproduce by budding, like other ophions. Unlike other ophions' buds, her buds start out fully grown and will accept her commands. They die much faster than buds from other ophions, however.

Possessions (Buildings not Included):
Golden Mask – Zerimel uses this mask to cover her head in the presence of others, so her moving facial features don’t disturb anyone. The jewels on the front of the mask are merely for decoration. It includes a voice synthesizer that sounds like her real voice, since her mouth moves around too much for her to talk very clearly without one.

History:
Currently unknown

Special Info:
Due to a rare hereditary disorder, Zerimel’s facial features will move around on her head instead of staying in one spot. As she is used to her eyes moving around at all times, she doesn’t get motion sickness as easily as other people do. She always knows where her facial features are, so she never misses her mouth when eating and accidentally get food all over her head.

Zerimel’s buds don’t wear masks, and they cannot create buds of their own. Additionally, they never do damage when melting.

Movesets

All Movesets

Special Attacks
Dodge Roll – Zerimel tucks herself into a ball and rolls, moving past the opponent if they’re close enough. She can’t be hurt by most things while rolling, though she can be thrown out of a roll.

Budding (Normal Moveset)

Special Attacks:
Bud Teleport – If Zerimel has a bud out on the battlefield, she can swap places with it. This happens so fast that only her mask appears to teleport. Afterward, Zerimel will be in the pose that the bud was in before swapping places (and vice versa). This normally causes the bud she swapped places with to immediately melt, but it won’t melt if she swaps places during Bud Mirror.

Bud Rush – Zerimel creates a bud that runs forward, punching the opponent once it gets close to them. The bud melts immediately after performing the punch. If it never gets close to the opponent, it will keep running until it goes offscreen and then melt.

Bud Shoulder – Zerimel crouches down and holds her arm in front of her. She then creates a bud that, while in mid-formation, steps on her arm. Once completely formed, the bud jumps off Zerimel’s arm and does an upward shoulder charge. The bud melts immediately upon hitting the opponent or going a certain distance without hitting the opponent, whichever comes first.

Bud Slide – Zerimel creates a bud that slides forward. The bud melts immediately after hitting the opponent. If it never hits the opponent, it will keep sliding until it goes offscreen and then melt.

Bud Hold – Zerimel jumps back, creating a bud where she used to be. The bud will stay where it was created (even if it was created in mid-air), grabbing the opponent and holding them still if they touch it. Once holding an opponent, the bud will melt after some amount of time has passed or when the opponent is attacked (whichever comes first). If the bud never grabs an opponent, it will eventually melt regardless. If Zerimel swaps places with the bud while it is holding the opponent, she will automatically throw the opponent once she is finished swapping places. Only one bud from this move can be out at any one time; if Zerimel creates another one, the first one will immediately melt.

Bud Throw – Zerimel can throw buds created with Bud Hold at her opponent, regardless of whether she is on the ground or in the air. This is treated as a special move in fighting games, even though she does this with her normal throw command. The bud deals damage on contact like a projectile instead of holding the opponent in place. Zerimel can’t throw another Zerimel’s buds.

Super Attacks:
Bud Mirror – Zerimel creates a bud that goes behind the opponent so that both Zerimel and the bud are an equal distance away from the opponent. The bud will copy whatever Zerimel does. If the opponent blocks Zerimel’s attacks, the bud’s attacks will be blocked as well. Zerimel can swap places with the bud as many times as she wants while Bud Mirror is active, in order to confuse the opponent and make them block the wrong way. After a period of time has passed, the bud will melt.

Jeweler

Special Attacks:
Order Record – After Zerimel uses this move, any actions she takes in the next second will be recorded. The recording can then be used as orders for her buds. Zerimel can have up to four of these recordings at a time. If she wants to record a fifth time, she must overwrite a previous recording. In a fighting game, her recordings carry over between rounds.

Command Bud – Zerimel creates a bud that performs the actions in one of her recordings. The bud hurts the opponent on contact as if it were a projectile. The bud melts after it has finished performing the actions in the recording. If Zerimel tries to use this move with a recording that doesn’t exist, the bud will stand in one place for a second before melting. In a fighting game, the recording that the bud uses depends on the button combination used to perform this move.

Trap Sphere – Zerimel takes out a gem and places it in front of her. The gem will hover in one place, storing one of Zerimel’s recordings as it does so. Once the opponent comes close enough for the gem to hit them with the stored recording’s actions, the gem becomes a hologram and performs those actions. The hologram hurts the opponent on contact as if it were a projectile. The hologram changes back into a gem and returns to Zerimel after it has finished performing the actions in the recording. Zerimel can have three gems on the battlefield at a time; trying to place a fourth gem will instead cause the first gem to return to Zerimel and be placed again. If Zerimel tries to use this move with a recording that doesn’t exist, the hologram will stand in one place for a second before disappearing. In a fighting game, the recording that the hologram uses depends on the button combination used to perform this move.

Bud Ride – If a dodge rolling bud is on the screen, Zerimel can ride it by jumping on top of it. This is treated as a special move in fighting games, even though she does this with her normal jump. She will automatically hop off the bud once it melts, though she can hop off before then using her normal jump. The bud will no longer perform any other actions in its recording, and it will stay in ball form for longer before melting. Zerimel can’t ride another Zerimel’s dodge rolling buds.

Bud Kick – If a dodge rolling bud is on the screen, Zerimel can send it flying toward her opponent by kicking it. This is treated as a special move in fighting games, even though she can do this with any kick (though not with kicks from her buds). The bud will no longer perform any other actions in its recording, and it won’t melt until it leaves the screen or hits the opponent. Zerimel can’t kick another Zerimel’s dodge rolling buds.

Super Attacks:
Bud Raid – Zerimel creates buds, and each bud performs the actions in one of Zerimel’s recordings. The buds hurt the opponent on contact as if they were projectiles. Each bud melts after it has finished performing the actions in its recording. Zerimel must have four recordings in order to use this move.

Special Info:
In the fighting game, Zerimel’s recording slots are represented by four jewels directly above her super meter. Jewels without a recording are black, while jewels with a recording are another color, depending on the specific recording slots they represent. Whenever Zerimel records into one of these slots, she will glow with the color of the slot until she is done recording. Whenever Zerimel uses one of her bud (or gem) producing moves, any bud (or gem) produced will be the color of the slot of the recording it is using. In addition, the colors of Zerimel’s mask jewels correspond with the colors of the jewels above her super meter.
